A History in Objects is a joint exhibition of Tsarskoe Selo and St Petersburg’s museum and exhibition centre Russia, My History, dedicated to Tsarskoe Selo’s 310-year history and launched on 24th June—at first online and later in the venue (in Russian only).

Every month during the next 12 months, one or several objects from the Museum’s collection will illustrate historical facts and events related to those months in the past.

The exhibits will include works of fine and applied arts and Romanov memorabilia, covering topics like the Enthronement of Peter I, the Russian Army’s 1814 Capture of Paris, Russia’s First Railroad, the Abolition of Serfdom, and others.

The June’s topic, the Foundation of Tsarskoe Selo on 24 June 1710, is represented by a Tsarskoe Selo Bicentenary medal, Tsarskoe Selo Bicentenary Exhibition poster and medal of 1911, and designs of trams and attendant uniforms for the Tram Road of Tsarskoe Selo.
