During the St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2021, on 3 June 2021 Tsarskoe Selo and Gazprom signed the Agreement of Cooperation for the preservation of cultural heritage and development of the Museum.

The signatures were put by Chairman Alexey Miller of the Gazprom Management Committee and Director Olga Taratynova of Tsarskoe Selo in the recently restored Lyons Hall of the Catherine Palace (also thanks to Gazprom's support).

The Agreement outlines the principal areas of further cooperation between Gazprom and the Museum.

Alexey Miller said, “We consider the restoration of the Catherine Palace vital. Thanks to the joint efforts by Gazprom and Tsarskoe Selo, the residents and guests of our beloved city can now enjoy the decor of the Lyons Hall and the Palace Chapel of the Resurrection, which are the true masterpieces of world culture. There's still a lot to be done." In 2023, the reconstruction of the interiors in the Zubov Wing should be finished, an ambitious project aimed to revive that part of the Catherine Palace and open it to the public for the first time after WWII.

Olga Taratynova said, “The gem of the Catherine Palace, the Lyons Hall  is once again shining in all its splendour after so many decades. To us, this is a true miracle, with the goodwill of specific people and organizations behind it. Without support from Gazprom, these walls would have still stood bare. Without support from the ENGIE Foundation, we would not have seen this sumptuous golden silk. We can confidently say that the work of our restorers is a feat of virtuosity. The re-creation of the Lyons Hall offers compelling proof that culture knows no borders and that good intentions consolidate efforts and bring people together.”
