On Tuesday, 12 October 2021, director Olga Taratynova and head architect Maria Ryadova of Tsarskoe Selo will present the lecture Alexander Palace: The Return.

The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. at the Chamber Hall of the First Catherine Gathering Building (88-90 Griboedov Canal Embankment) and will be followed by a discussion.

The topic is the recent opening after restoration of the Alexander Palace's private rooms of Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna. The audience will learn about the palace's latest restoration since 2010, the decision-making behind the architectural monument's preservation and adaptation for museum use, and the transformations this project endured after the finds made by restorers.

The event is organised by Tsarskoe Selo, the Petersburg-Concert Cultural Institution, and the Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design. The latter thus launches its Architecture Embassy project of arch-mediations, lectures and discussions about architecture.

Admission is free but space is limited, advance registration is required.
