The Large Caprice, an unusual Chinese style structure connecting the Alexander and Catherine Parks at Tsarskoe Selo, has completed the first part of restoration.

Covered in scaffolding since 2019, the 1770s composition of two arches under a hill topped by a belvedere underwent thorough restoration work by specialists from the Matis company. They restored the walls and vaults of the arches, as well as the fronts and steps of the labyrinth on the northern slope. They also improved the waterproofing system, repaired the cobblestone and gravel road, and greened up the surroundings. All works were carried out at the museum's expense. The second part of restoration, focusing on the stone blocks of the Large Caprice, will follow.

The belvedere will be accessible to Catherine Park visitors during warm season.
