On 2 February 2024 at 5 p.m. and on 10 February at 4.30 p.m., a tour of the Brighter than the Sun exhibition in three state rooms of the Catherine Palace will become a mediation, with our museum specialist turning into a cultural mediator to offer an emotional journey along the timeline of history.

Commemorating twenty years since the end of the Amber Room's restoration, this exhibition is a great space to try a new way of interaction between museum goers and museum guides. Museum mediation helps remove unwelcoming barriers between the museum and its visitors. Approaching tour guides as cultural mediators, the new way of museum communication offers new insights into historical subjects.

Based on dialog among staff in the exhibition spaces and the public, the exhibition tour led by our mediator will invite visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the Amber Room through listening and interaction.

Our visitors will discuss the exhibition's design and decipher its hidden images to unravel the tangle of the mysterious, three centuries long history of the legendary amber masterpiece.
