Tsarskoe Selo takes part in Roads of Russian Enlightenment, a large-scale education exhibition project initiated by the 'Lomonosov Roads' Russian North Preservation Foundation.
The project's launch is set for February 2024. It is highlighted with an exhibition at the History, Architecture and Art Museum of Kargopol, an old Russian town on both sides of the Onega River in the Arkhangelsk region.
Our museum will showcase some artefacts that belonged to Empress Catherine the Great, who played a great role in the urban development of the Russian North. The empress planned but didn't make a trip to Kargopol, which, on the occasion, was renovated based on the plans of Sofia Town near Tsarskoe Selo.
