Tsarskoe Selo, the National Research University 'Higher School of Economics' (HSE University) and the HSE Design School, with support from the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation, announce a call for projects by young designers to develop a series of souvenirs inspired by our floral project Palace in Bloom.

Launched in September 2023 and lasting till August 2024, our year-long floral project brings back the feeling of home into the former residence of Tsar Nicholas II and his family. Twelve series of flower and plant arrangements have been succeeding each other monthly in the former private rooms of Russia's last imperial couple. The arrangements are created by St Petersburg designers and florists in collaboration with our museum and supervised by St Petersburg's designer and florist Maxim Languev.

The design projects are expected to include at least five objects, one from each of the following categories:

  • clothing and accessories (tote bag, sweatshirt, hair clip, brooch, makeup bag, umbrella, badge)
  • stationery and paper products (notepad, sketchbook, folder, pencil, postcard, bookmark)
  • wall calendar (with monthly photographs of the project's floral arrangements)
  • children's souvenir (game sets, memory game, sticker pack)
  • open category: a new souvenir (cardholder, tea cup and saucer set, phone case, passport cover)

The winning design will appear on a limited edition of our official museum souvenirs.

Due date: 28 August 2024
