From 20 February to 26 June 2026, the Martial Chamber (WWI Museum) of Tsarskoe Selo houses the exhibition Hero, Artist, Publicist: In Memory of Georgy Kadin.

The exhibition tells the story of Georgy Kadin (1885-1931), a Russian and Soviet painter, graphic artist, architect, author, inventor, artillery officer and military pilot (observer/navigator) during the First World War and after the 1917 revolution.

A man of a unique destiny, Georgy Kadin's life path was a combination of artistic creativity, military service, and engineering.

As an artist, he significantly contributed to the development of aviation themes in Soviet fine art. That made him one of the first artists to create works based on his flying experience.

The exhibition includes Kadin's paintings, graphic works, documents and personal belongings from the Tsarskoe Selo collection and the Kadin-Zhernakov family archive. Most of the artefacts are on display for the first time
