Tsarskoe Selo State Museum and Heritage Site

Awarded

20.10.2025

Our restoration project of Catherine II's Private Rooms in the Zubov Wing of the Catherine Palace is awarded by Russia’s museum community.

Tsarskoe Selo received the Mnemosyne trophy in the Museum Masterpiece category at the 2025 Museum Olympus awards ceremony, which took place at the Galiaskar Kamal Tatar Academic Theatre in the city of Kazan on 17th October.

After a remarkable five-year restoration, the eight reconstructed rooms are open to the public since 25th December 2024, thanks to the financial support of Gazprom PJSC. The interiors will appear in full splendour after one hundred and fifty-five lacquer wall panels are installed in the Chinese Hall in 2026.

Our Mnemosyne count stands at nine now, resulting from the previous wins in 2010 (Museum of the Year), 2013 (Exhibition and Museum Book of the Year), 2014 (Exposition of the Year), 2015 (Prestige of Petersburg), 2016 (Exposition of the Year), 2017 (Exhibition of the Year) and 2019 (Museum Unformatted).

Launched in 2009 by St Petersburg's museum community and city authorities, the Museum Olympus awards became national in 2024 and are now supported by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives .
