Glaze & Mane

Our earlier Glaze & Mane competition for ceramic artists now showcases the best works at the Imperial Farm of Tsarskoe Selo.

Organised by Tsarskoe Selo and Heat It Up! Contemporary Ceramic and Glass Magazine in partnership with 573 Gallery of Modern Artistic Ceramics, the Glaze & Mane exhibition features seventeen art objects by ceramists from all over Russia and one from Cuba. Three objects are provided by 573 Gallery.

The ceramists drew inspiration from various domestic, wild and exotic animals that lived at the Imperial Farm in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, as well as from the Farm's current inhabitants, such as horses and fowl. Some were inspired by the Farm's nearly century-long connection with dairy products production and supply to the Imperial Court.

The free exhibition (6+) is open through 4 October 2026. The project also offers guided tours, meetings with ceramic artists, hands-on workshops, discussions, and open lectures on contemporary ceramics.
